Every day we come across boxes and packaging materials of different shapes and sizes, whether they came along with our packed food stuff, or in the office or in our homes, we can find these cardboard boxes and packing materials everywhere.
Christmas is one of those times when too many boxes and packaging materials get accumulated , and to be honest many of those accumulated boxes and packaging materials are still residing in and around your home.
The packaging supplies and protective materials you received with your presents this year, you might have thought that it might be a wise idea to keep them along. We do so for the safety of more fragile items when they are not being used with as it is a good idea that they are put back in their box.
Did any one of you receive a damaged or broken toy just because of improper packaging or due to the lack of bubble wrap or protective material?
For many, the answer will be a no because these days we often find that our items are always overly packed. They are boxed and usually packed with: polystyrene, foam/packing peanuts, corrugated paper rolls, air packs/cushions, bubble wrap or at times with all of the above.
We are not saying that it is a bad thing to be protective when packing our products for shipment as it ensures our goods are safe, but we are talking about the afterthought- What do you do with the packaging materials of your purchased goods you have unpacked?
It is just not environmentally friendly to over use the packaging materials. Depending on the items, its weight, shape and size there is a sensible and feasible solution of packaging protection.
Take a look at a few examples on how to cut short the use of packaging material but at the same time ensure safety of your commodities.
If you are shipping many small but heavy weight items to one particular retailer/consumer then it is always better to select a sturdy double wall box from our collection and team it with our loose fill packing peanuts. We also have these in a biodegradable option.
Posting out a book? We have specially designed book boxes and to ensure that they remain in the original condition, it is wise to wrap them in either our foam wrap rolls or corrugated paper. After all, nobody likes a book with damaged corners.
Our final example would be for shipping out either a television or radio perhaps. Of course you need a cardboard box, double wall is always advisable with larger heavier items, and we have polystyrene corner protectors. It is wise to wrap the item in bubble wrap or foam wrap just to make sure that there are no scratches on the screen, and then place the protective corners on afterwards. If the box is of the correct size you will have no problems when shipping out your items.
There is no need to use numerous amounts of packaging materials when you use the right quality solutions in the beginning.
